Mushrooms
by Sylvia Plath
Overnight, very
Whitely, discreetly,
Very quietly
Our toes, our noses
Take hold on the loam,
Acquire the air.
Nobody sees us,
Stops us, betrays us;
The small grains make room.
Soft fists insist on
Heaving the needles,
The leafy bedding,
Even the paving.
Our hammers, our rams,
Earless and eyeless,
Perfectly voiceless,
Widen the crannies,
Shoulder through holes. We
Diet on water,
On crumbs of shadow,
Bland-mannered, asking
Little or nothing.
So many of us!
So many of us!
We are shelves, we are
Tables, we are meek,
We are edible,
Nudgers and shovers
In spite of ourselves.
Our kind multiplies:
We shall by morning
Inherit the earth.
Our foot's in the door.

So Many of Us

"[Our pre-conceived] realities always [have] too many heads"
because they are NOT based on what God's Word says!
"Crushing truths perish from being acknowledged" because we do not heed God's Word and in effect we do not enter into our responsibility toward the Word of God.
We would die in ignorance.
And this results in:
"How hard I find it to see what is right in front of my eyes." We are (at best) blind without the Light of Truth which is ONLY found in Scripture. Other philosophical means leads to a dead end. True experience of God who is in 3 persons, Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit, is only by Grace though Faith + NOTHING.
The Ultimate Fulfilment of Prophecy is when Jesus Christ comes back to earth in ALL His Glory!
"Whether they listen or not--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them."
