The Wise Trip On Grace

It occurred to me that a good number of people with whom we hang these days might not know this side of my...What do they it..Better half. If you can pull yourself away from the fact of the devastatingly charming woman for a moment, the song is also really something. All seamless I reckon.
Happy Bloomsday,
jdd
p.s. One can apparently acquire a crisper version on ITunes.

Is that the legendary Art Institute back there? ;-)

it cheers this jangle-enthusiast no small amount that the guitar that seemed to inspire the biggest smile from sarah was the 12-string rickenbacker. groovy, man.

Initially, I thought the first comment by annabanana was dubbing Sarah a "wordling" -- but then I realized it was just a fortuitous typo. I agree with annabanna on her comment. And I think I shall indeed take to calling Sarah a wordling. I aspire to being one, as well. :)

oh to be good wordlings. an especially high calling i believe.
thanks for spotting it, sister wordling,
and thanks for vouchsafing upon us such a gracious mistake, annabanana.

hi-5's to all,
jdd

p.s. brook, art thou in possession of an art institute t-shirt?
p.p.s. the wordling bizness puts me in mind of the dark crystal.

That album got me through freshman year of high school. There were a lot of Tuesdays back then.

I've been kicking myself for years over misplacing that shirt! I bought one of the 15 or 20(?) they printed for their first Cstone show, and that thing's probably worth...who knows how much now! And now some hobo is probably using it as a hangover apron...

tee-hee, "wordling" was intentional, a reaction to the quoted lyric...i didn't want a finite expression...but, glad it's well-received anyway and happy for its evolution. it's nice when conversation presses imagination.

--also, is it ok to admit that i'm still trying to work up to viewing the dark crystal? a mite timid, i am.

I remember watching this before I really knew Sarah. David had shared with me his interest in her and I was trying to learn more about her. Seamless- very true.
Thanks Dave, for posting this. It's helping Olivia deal with her Sarah withdrawal- now she's going around the house singing and dancing- hope you don't mind, Sarah, she's somehow altered the lyrics, "All of us fall down."

David, please let Sarah know that the next time I have the privilege of dining with the Dark's I want her autograph. And then I want her to teach me the "chorus dance." I love it.

Thanks to everyone for the good words.
We're trying to figure out how to get all the new songs on Itunes at the minute.
And David Scudder, thanks so much for the very pleasant reminder of how much I like Girard.
hope this finds you well,

There were three artists back in the day I would have paid to play for: Julie Miller, Kim Hill, and your bride. Oh, the days gone by!

a little reminder of a visit we three-you, Sarah, and I-along with another friend of yours whose name escapes me-made to Vandy not too long ago...

...and of course glad to see props given for Ian McKellen

I, too, was and am a fan of the lovely Sarah Masen Dark. Thanks for the great memories. And yes, Julie Miller is also an amazing artist and songwriter.

I can't believe that I've never seen this before! I love love and lub it.

Fave part is the running-into-the-wall sequence. I think we may have tried that since.

Less than 8 weeks till we're neighbours, friend.

Said Joan: "That album got me through freshman year of high school. There were a lot of Tuesdays back then."

Oh, absolutely on my part, too. I have very clear memories of driving around in my beat-up Taurus station wagon and singing along with Sarah's first album. And I remember watching this video fanatically as I emerged from my CCM-ska obsession into more thoughtful "Christian" songwriting. I was like, "Who is this weird skinny girl running herself into walls and singing so desperately? She is The Coolest."

I am so glad to know you guys, even just a little, now. This was a fun flashback to the pre-FFM days!

I'm with Jude - hadn't seen it before, and I loved the wall-jump (so did Gideon).

One of the great blessings that has come with my marriage to Shelby (formerly Browning) has been my introduction to Sarah's music. We even had We Are A Beginning played at our wedding. I wish that I had known your stuff when I could have seen you live Sarah!

I love your music and this is one of my favorite songs ever. I'm glad I got to see the vid! Thanks for posting it David.
