Harrumph!
that is a whole lot of crazy.
i saw from the eno quote on FB that you had delved into the ohm collection... there's some mighty good stuff in there...
i ordered a copy of the ohm dvd for the library i work in and sadly to date i am the only one who has evervsigned it out...
i hope you made a bald bespectacled worker at your own local library very happy...
I've always thought the theremin was the female counterpart to the Ondes Martenot that Jonny Greenwood has perfected so well. This video only solidifies what I believed.
You know, I rarely watch the videos you post and I just skim over what you write. I come here for the comments which are always fun!
Scot, I feel your Harrumph!
ohchicken, that's what I'm talking about.
The Diarist, I hope I did too (though it was a young lady who seemed largely disinterested but very polite...maybe i misjudged her). you're the only one to check it out in a freakin' TORONTO library? this surprises me.
J. Andrew Camp, go with it.
Glad you think so, Anonymous. Skim away, dear person. And I'll take the fun you find in the comments as a compliment to all my way-cool friend-commenters.
we R a beginning.
well, to be fair on toronto, it's a college library so it's not really open to the general public... but we have a course on music production and i thought there might be a few electronic music fans or synth-geeks on the course or even in the general student body... i live in hope...
on a similar tip, i'd recommend the documentary "haack: the king of techno"... the title seems a little inappropriate but my brief descriptionof it would be a sort of cross between the ohm series and "the devil and daniel johnson"... it's a really good watch... pete taylor turned me on to the music of bruce haack...
and beck even covered one of his tunes on a tribute album!
mr. camp - do you know of any footage of greenwood on the ondes martenot? i'd love to see him in action... that's one crazy insrtument...

This is a video of Radiohead performing "How to Disappear Completely" from their record Kid A. It has a "martenot choir" with Jonny performing as well as a group of other musicians not in the band. But, it is an excellent version.
:)
that was lovely... just lost quite a bit of time following one clip to another there...
youtube can act as sort of blackhole sometimes...
hahaha that is definitely true!
WERD!
Subtle sounds of future past.
